Every bride wants to look lovely on her wedding day, and wedding gowns play an important part on how she will trun out to be. But wedding gowns are costly. And if you are like most of us who are trying to fit everything in a budget for that special day, you don't have to spend so much on that single attire you'll probably be wearing once.

Having a wedding theme allows you to wear an attire according to that theme. For example, if your theme is the 50's era, there's no need to look hard for an attire suited for that theme. Maybe your mother still has her gown and you can wear that instead of buying one.

But if you're looking for a traditional bridal gown, you don't have to buy a brand new one. Many brides wear used bridal gowns for their special day. As I mentioned earlier, you shouldn't be spending too much on an attire that might be in your closet forever. Look at second hand stores or thrift stores. They are dry cleaned, and some were not even worn at all. Shop at bridal stores during an off season and look for one that fits you.

Another place worth considering is Ebay. It is a marketplace to visit when you want things at a fraction of the retail cost, and many sellers sell even new gowns at incredibly low prices. You can also buy other things you need for your wedding from them.

Other places you should look into are garage sales in your area and classified ads of your newspapers. They might need repair, though.

But if you have ample time, you can buy your own fabric and have a gown made for you. This way your gown will be made according to your own style, and you will not worry whether it will fit you or not.
